ar 15 candy(22.10.2011)
have tried these in my ar 15 with many powders like xbr 8208, h335, tac, blc2. I have a 20'' 1:9 twist barrel. They shoot great, and buck the wind a little better than the 55gr v max. I have only shot them out to 400 yards so far- need more room! watch out coyotes and prairie dogs!
Some type of black magic(08.09.2012)
Better BC than comparable bullets in its class - the folks at Hornady must be using black magic to make bullets these days.
Out of a 1/9 twist 223 with BLC2 per the Hornady reloading manual the load was lethal on a recent Montana prarie dog shoot out to 400 yards. Very easy to find a load - not a lot of tweaking needed.
Excellent bullet!!(18.12.2015)
I'm shocked this bullet doesn't blow up on the way to the target. I push it at to approx. 3700 ft/min from my 22-250 w/35.0 grains of Varget. So far nothing has shot as consistent or as accurate from my Shilen Match Select barreled LRPV Savage BR with a 1:8 twist. I could load it slightly hotter, w/35.7 grains, but why would I? I wasn't looking for anything but the best, consistent accuracy. I probably can't shoot good enough to see a difference.
Accurate (01.01.2016)
These are one of the most accurate Bullets I have ever loaded in my AR15's. 1/4 minute groups are possible out of my 24 inch Kreiger barrel. My 20 inch White Oak barrel is close at under 1/2 minute (not quite 1/4 minite) These are 5 shot groups. The relatively high BC for a bullet this ligh is also nice. I regularly shoot these bullets out to 600 yards. These are by far my favorite bullet for any AR15
Great round(22.07.2016)
My home-built sub poa 5.4 gr. Hogdon 4114 powder with Winchester primers.....works for me !
Great bullet for varmints(22.11.2013)
This is one of the best bullets ever made for varmint hunting with .223 caliber rifles. I prefer the cannelured version mostly because I don't have to worry about the bullets "creeping" in the case. You don't want to crimp the case too tightly because it might put a dent in the bullets thin skin. I shoot it at velocities up to 3400 FPS in my .223, and when it hits a prairie dog or crow, there isn't much left to pick up! I also use this same bullet in my 220 Swift and the results on small varmints is nothing less than spectacular. This bullet really holds together at extreme velocities approaching 3800 FPS. That is until it hits something. Another thing I appreciate about this thin skinned beauty is that richochets are almost eliminated because the bullet virtually explodes whenever it hits anything. So it is definitely not a good choice for brush popping. Even the tiniest twig will cause it to self destruct. I recommend this bullet to all reloaders who enjoy shooting 22 caliber guns.
hornady v max 50gr. 223(16.07.2012)
excellent 5 shot groups at 100yds. I will move out to 200 yds next. I am shooting 700 Rem. SPS.paul0311
Incredible expansion(28.02.2013)
I have shot these bullets from my Contender in .300 Whisper for years. Using 2 Ltr. soda bottles filled with water the results are amazing. On impact the bottle becomes a cloud of mist. The expansion is so complete that there are no fragment marks on the far side of the bottle. If you are looking for some real effects, this is your bullet.
Best BC on any 6mm varmit bullet(28.08.2010)
expands fast, accurate, good BC, good price
Love 87gr V-MAX for the 243 win(21.05.2011)
Been loading Fed 210 large rifle primer, 36.7gns of Reloader 15 and 87gn V-MAX for the 243 win. The mate and I both use this load and we are knocking over wild pigs in the Australian Outback with devestating stop dead in their track results.
Great Bullet for the 243 Winchester(26.02.2011)
I've been using this bullet with 38 grains of Varget in my 243 Winchester. Seat the bullet .010" off the lands and you will see 1/2" groups or better at 100 meters.
One Amazing Bullet(26.12.2012)
Once you tune this bullet with the right powder it is amazing. 50gr of imr4064 (near max) does 3460fps in my Marlin XL7 and is sub MOA at 100 yds. It is devasting on woodchucks and drops deer in their tracks.
Terminator(05.06.2012)
This bullet in a friend's 6mm-06 wildcat did things to a prairie dog that can't be written... suffice it say that the gun's name is 'Vix', as in vaporizer. This 58g bullet will work in about anything from a 1:14 twist down to 1:8 twist and the results have always be awesome.
Great bullet(19.09.2014)
I handload these for .223 rem I can keep 1/2" 5 shot groups out of two different guns a 20" hbar bushmaster and ruger m77 mkII at 100 yards
CCI 400
21gr IMR 3031
Very accurate in my AR-15 HB varmint gun(29.07.2012)
1/3 MOA in my Wilson-barreled AR15 w/ TAC powder, and 1/4 MOA in a .22-250 with Varget. A great value too, compared to other 50 grain premium varmint bullets
Savage 112 loves 'em(01.08.2012)
My Savage 112 shoots one hole five shot groups at 200 yards with these all day long and it's not even real picky where powder is concerned,as long as you stay in the H335/AA2230 burn rate spectrum.
hornady 22 cal 50 gr. v-max bullets(07.08.2012)
I use the 50 &55 gr.v-max bullets on praire dogs & rabbits & other varmints & they work very well

Very very deadly on EVERYTHING!(17.02.2015)
Thia bullet with proper powder load will kill anything from ground hogs to 200lb white tails.
