It works(31.07.2016)
It works but on my 97' model 11-87 premier engraved i can only run it down halfway up the threads to get the proper sight picture with the front "pearl" sight. May need to order new front sight so i can run the bead down so all the threads are in the vent rib.
Oversize thread, hard to install(15.09.2017)
I am putting this into a bare rib that I drilled and tapped rather than a Remington. The ANSI max thread diameter for 2-56 is .086"
This sight mic's at .089. It sounds like a small difference, but I could only get it a couple of turns in when my pin vise started spinning. Even pliers couldn't turn it inward, but I did get it out, damaged.
A regular 2-56 screw (.084") goes straight to the bottom of the hole.
I imagine the oversize thread is intended to be vibration-proof. Doesn't do much good if I can't get it in to begin with.
I have another coming to see if it fits better. If not I'll modify a regular screw and use thread locker.
