Lasted around 100 shots before it started losing up, and shells started flying out regardless. Now I've got to spend loads of time getting this adhesive of my sx4.
Works well with Remington 1100(21.03.2019)
I mounted this on my Remington 1100 last weekend before a clay shooting competition. Although it is not mandatory to use shell catchers in certain competitions, I feel better not throwing empty shells at my sideman. When I started shooting the shell catcher didn't catch the first 3 empty shells and I started to worry if I had mounted the thing wrong. But after bending a bit on the clamp to make it tighter the shell catcher worked flawlessly for the last 47 rounds.
Great product(24.02.2010)
Put the shell catcher on my Benelli M2. Just came back from shooting 5 rounds of trap. It caught 123 hulls. What a difference from having to pick them up!
Very useful on the firing line(29.11.2011)
I purchased the shell catcher for my 12 gauge model 11 Remington because I occasionally bring it to the trap range and the ejected shells are a problem. The item works very well, especially the ability to snap down the catching lever to load a round. In many respects the shell catcher is easier to use than the clip-on catcher I have on my model 1100. The only reason I didn't give this five stars is, because you have to stick it to the receiver with double-sided tape, removing the article is clumsy. I just purchased another for my 20 gauge Model 11.
Sping doesn't hold(02.03.2012)
I had one of these a couple years ago that worked fairly well on a Remington 1100. I just got a newer one (the vinyl tip is white unlike the red in the picture) and the spring wire will not stay in place on a Win SX2 with mild trap loads. After 2 or 3 hulls it pops out of the retainer making it more trouble than it is worth.
Won't work on heavy cases(17.11.2013)
Just put one of these on my 1100, works OK on the light weight shells you get at the big box stores but did not work at all for the AA and Federal heavier shells I'm reloading.
Birchwood Casey Shell Catcher(21.12.2013)
I put one on my Benelli Super Sport and one on my son's Franchi Affinity. They work. Sometimes it forces the shell back into the receiver rather than catching it but it is lot better than picking them up off the ground.
I am ordering one for a friend.
Works Great(18.03.2014)
Bought for Win SX2 and shooting Trap. Worked great for the couple of thousand rounds I put through it, target and reloads. Moved on to a BT-99 for Trap, SX2 went back to the duck blind, and I removed the catcher, but, wouldn't hesitate to use it again if ever needed. And no big deal, it's a whopping $12!!!
